The Los Angeles Stella McCartney boutique was the site for a gaggle of kids, celebrity moms and farm animals on Saturday as the house hosted a benefit for Children’s Action Network. Actresses Selma Blair, Monet Mazur, Jessica Capshaw and Shiva Rose were among those who toted their tots to the activity-filled shopping party, where face painting, paper house building and a petting zoo kept the kids busy while moms perused the clothes and accessories.
“I feel like I’m Angelina Jolie for the first time in my life,” Blair quipped of all the attention her pregnancy and subsequent birth of son Arthur seven weeks ago has drawn. “I’m so happy to be able to work and spend time with my son, and to go to fun things like this. I love fashion still, so I hope I can fit back in the clothes someday.”
Blair was being hard on herself, as she already managed to look great in a tiny sailor-printed Stella minidress that matched Arthur’s Stella striped onesie. “The heels aren’t something I normally wear with him,” she said as she cuddled her sleeping son. “There’s too much margin for error so I will be wearing flats most of the time.”
Monet Mazur left her six-month-old at home but brought son Marlon, who took a few energetic swipes at a candy-filled piñata. Jessica Capshaw offered her own bit of advice to new parents: “Don’t try to do it all. You have to make compromises. I love to go out, but sometimes it’s not possible with kids and work. If I can make it out, then I’m so happy to be there. I’m not one of those people who acts bummed to be at an event.”
