After Kings of Leon played a sold-out, raucous show at New York’s Roseland Ballroom — complete with communal joints — the band and 200 of its closest friends kept the festivities going at the after party, hosted by DKNY Jeans at the Soho Grand’s grassy outdoor Yard.
First to the party was Drew Barrymore, as rumpled and adorable as ever in a black pencil skirt, black tights, black shoes and a flowy black blouse. Kings lead singer Caleb Followill with his band-brothers Nathan and Jared, and band-cousin, Matthew. They sing about a “Tapered Jean Girl,” and they certainly followed the style, all sporting supertight denim. Hooking up with DKNY Jeans, however, was a perfect fit—they snagged a few women’s pairs of the label’s Skinny Jeans. (Caleb, Nathan, Jared and Matthew take sizes 27, 29, 27 and 31 inches, respectively.)
KoL fan Josh Hartnett, in a more relaxed fit, knocked back a few drinks with his own friendly entourage. The Strokes were there too. Fabrizio Morretti talked on his Razr, while a clean-cut Julian Casablancas chatted with indie darling little Ben Kweller. Albert Hammond Jr., whose ‘fro was working overtime in the humidity, kept asking the popcorn shrimp-carrying waitress, “Where are the hamburgers?”
