San Francisco society has been ringing in the holidays with several posh fetes around town.
On Wednesday, Dede Wilsey was among 300 fine jewelry fanatics who headed to the Legion of Honor museum to celebrate the opening of the world exclusive exhibit “The Art of Cartier: Master Works from the Cartier Collection.” (For more on the exhibition, see page 5.)

“I’ve been obsessed with tiaras since I was a little girl,” said Wilsey. “So, by the way, for those of you who might be interested, I love all of the tiaras in the show — except the topaz one.”
After viewing the gems, guests including Becca Cason Thrash, Denise Hale and Juliet de Baubigny sat for dinner at tables adorned with white amaryllis, mirrors and black custom cashmere tablecloths. However, social Larissa Sabadash’s dramatic Dolce & Gabbana number was so form-fitting that traipsing the stairs up to dinner was out of the question. She took the elevator.
