Elsewhere in New York on Thursday night, George Carr celebrated the release of “Zack Carr,” (PowerHouse Books), a tribute to his brother’s legacy, with a signing at Parsons School of Design, co-hosted by Calvin Klein, Kelly Klein, Sheryl and Barry Schwartz, Grace Coddington, Bruce Weber, Anna Wintour and several other fashion luminaries. Surrounded by popping flashbulbs, cousins he hadn’t seen in 30 years and family from Texas, Carr was tickled by the show of support for his brother, the former creative director of Calvin Klein. “It just feels like one big family,” he beamed.
A few blocks away, the Dia Art Foundation held its annual fall gala, always a major attraction for art-world heavies. As guests like Chuck Close, Jacqueline and Maxwell Anderson and Richard Meier swilled cocktails, Ann Tennenbaum explained the crowd’s devotion to Dia. “We don’t have a lot of socialites at this event,” she said. “We have integrity.”
