Bulgari threw San Francisco social Tatiana Sorokko a glam birthday party at its Post Street store Thursday night. “Twenty-one,” Denise Hale presumed of the age of the guest of honor. “Just like me.”
Sorokko, wearing a pair of 120-carat emerald earrings, was regaling guests including stepdaughter Katya, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Karen Caldwell, Dede Wilsey and John Traina with highlights from her recent trip to Azerbaijan.

“Baku, the capital, has a freestanding
Bulgari, a new Tom Ford shop and Boucheron,” said Sorokko, still complaining of jet lag. “It’s an oil-rich economy. I bought some silk rugs and gold bracelets.”
“Yes, but did you bring back any caviar?” inquired Hale, hopefully.
“Sorry, darling, we ate it all,” Sorokko replied.
Instead, the group was treated to a chocolate mousse cake, which was presented to Sorokko with much fanfare (though with only one candle).
Afterward, Bulgari store manager Daniel Diaz hosted a dinner at Spruce, where Sorokko and her pals dined on white truffles.
