On a sunsoaked Friday afternoon in Napa, the Trainas threw their super-stylish biennial Fourth of July barn dance and dinner for 300 at the family’s vineyard.
There were vintage wagons, rope-twirling rhinestone cowboys, fortune-tellers, and a first- rate mariachi band. The guests didn’t disappoint either. OJ Shansby arrived wearing an authentic Native American beaded suede tunic from the 1800s, complete with a brown and purple feature headdress. “Chanel doesn’t do country western,” she noted.
Samantha Traina also topped her gauzy Balenciaga dress with a flirty feathered headdress. “I made it while we were lying around the pool this afternoon,” she said.
Claiborne Swanson, who became engaged the previous afternoon to James Frank, was perhaps the most blissed out. “We were sipping Champagne on our terrace at Meadowood, and he proposed,” she said giddily.
Also do-si-do-ing in the barn were Trevor and Alexis Traina, Todd and Katie Traina, Zara Traina, Dede Wilsey, Vanessa Carlton, Kathleen Turner and Maria Manetti Farrow.
