The spring fashions on the runways this week have continued the more minimal tone set in motion this fall. And you needed to look no further than the front row of the Douglas Hannant show Thursday morning and an elegant Jamee Gregory to see the merits of the succinct style. Wearing gray Theory pants, a white, tuxedo-ruffled button-down Alexander McQueen shirt and Manolo Blahnik sandals, Gregory looked crisp and cool despite the muggy weather. Even her fringed Hogan bag revealed her desire to pare things down (of course, it helps that daughter Sam does their p.r.). “All these women carry around these huge bags on their arms and I just can’t,” said Gregory. “I love that this bag is small and fun and I can still fit my umbrella in it. And I won’t end up walking around lopsided.”

She isn’t immune to an impulse buy, though. “I got it Wednesday at Saks,” said Gregory of her McQueen blouse. “I saw it and I thought it looked so sweet, I couldn’t resist.”
