With all the see-and-be-seen action in the front rows of fashion week, the temptation is great to dress to impress. So how refreshing it was when Lauren duPont glided into the Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta and Proenza Schouler shows on Monday looking relaxed and serene in a flowing, floral Mint dress and slouchy brown Balenciaga bag. DuPont topped off her romantically carefree look with a bronze and moonstone necklace with a dragonhead pendant from her new jewelry line, Abraham-duPont, and, in an about-face from the standard social requisite of staggering heels, gold Delman ballet flats. “I needed to be comfortable — I had a lot to do,” said duPont of her footwear choice. “I almost wore flip-flops, but I didn’t have time to get a pedicure.”
Bet those other ladies were green with envy.
