Indie darling Chloë Sevigny is not the first name that comes to mind when one thinks of Caribbean resorts. But at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman’s opening gala last weekend, the actress injected a much-needed dose of high-fashion glamour with a floral-print chiffon minidress from the Dolce & Gabbana archives. With its abbreviated hemline and va-va-voom bust, the breezy look required only bare makeup and the simplest of accessories: a sparkly clutch, teetering black patent leather sandals, a delicate arm bracelet and a gold cross necklace. “I chose the dress because it was an event at the Ritz in Grand Cayman, so I thought something tropical and fun would be better than something overly dramatic and black,” says Sevigny. “I had a bit of a tan, so I thought simple gold jewelry would best complement that.”
