PARIS — Cate Blanchett brought a blast of spring chic — gypsy style — to Paris last week, wearing Jean Paul Gaultier to a screening of “The Aviator,” Martin Scorsese’s latest flick. Could Gaultier be a trial run for the upcoming Golden Globes? “I made a few appointments to look at some dresses in the morning,” Blanchett demurred Thursday night at the after party at Many Ray. “I have to go back home tomorrow: My son is in school, you know.” Meanwhile, Scorsese was already accessorized for the awards. He proudly displayed a small red pin attached to his jacket lapel, the French Legion of Honor he received in Paris last Wednesday. The director confessed he was taken aback by the French way of doing things. “They told me three days before,” he said with a laugh. “I didn’t know anything.” A few tables away, Leonardo DiCaprio was the recipient of an Arts and Letters award from the French government. But the decoration could not be seen behind his wall of bodyguards.
