“Same, same, not different” is the maxim of the collaboration between German denim company Closed and model Toni Garrn and her brother Niklas that was celebrated at Berlin’s Dean Bar on Friday night.
Together with Closed, the siblings developed a 12-piece unisex collection titled “EQL,” aimed at drawing attention for equality. The collection is available online and in selected Closed stores.
“This collaboration means a lot to me because it’s a family project with my brother, with whom I don’t usually get to work a lot. I am dedicated to women’s and girls’ rights and this campaign is about equality, so it embodies everything I care for,” Toni Garrn told WWD at the event.
The German model has been an ambassador of Plan International’s “Because I Am a Girl” movement and founded her own Toni Garrn Foundation last February to promote better education for girls in African countries.
She also hinted there might be more to come from her side: “The creative process was inspiring, and I can definitely see myself expanding from modeling.”
