From Jean Paul Gaultier and Nicolas Ghesquière’s early fashion week to-dos, it’s clear the spring collections are no longer just about New York. Come Sunday evening, even the post-party nightlife will get a Gallic infusion when Colette Local Club’s “Around the World” (a production from the kids behind the terminally chic boutique in Paris) arrives on New York shores at Culture Club. A monthly dance class held in conjunction with Nike at the boîte Paris Paris since 2005, it has attracted a mix of art, music and media types with themes ranging from Krump and Footloose to Swing and even Madonna.
Now, beginning at 10 p.m., the French team will host a U.S. version, including the world-famous Colette dance class “Around the World” and the “BlairWear” dance instruction (scheduled for 2:30 a.m.). Those still going strong can boogie off the food they haven’t been eating all weekend till 4 a.m. And for those diehard fans, there will be a Colette Walk Dance this afternoon, as part of the Art Parade in association with Deitch gallery and Paper magazine.
