We know she likes Valentino and occasionally Mugler, but could Sharon Stone be developing a penchant for Donna Karan as well? Karan supplied Stone’s clothes for her new movie, “The Specialist,” which she is currently making in Miami. The designer sent an entire wardrobe: knits, jackets, dresses, pants, suits and eveningwear.
It’ll be Supermodel Central at Isaac Mizrahi’s AIDS Project Los Angeles extravaganza at Mann’s Chinese Theater this Thursday. Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Niki Taylor, Veronica Webb, Yasmeen Ghauri, Kate Moss, and Tatjana Patitz will all walk the runway. Naomi Campbell’s taking a 4:00 p.m. flight, and will be in the show if she makes it on time. And, inevitably, there’ll be stars: Anjelica Huston, Whoopi Goldberg, Ellen Barkin, Sean Penn and Robin Wright, Brad Pitt and, oddly enough, Valentino. And the after-party that Brent Bolthouse and Sandra Bernhard are throwing at the House of Blues is being co-hosted by all the models. The House of Blues opened just a week ago, but it’s already the hippest club in town. Last Saturday night, Magic Johnson jumped on stage to sing with James Brown, only to be joined by Bobby Brown, and then Bruce Springsteen. While they sang, Wesley Snipes did a two-step with the chorus girls. Donna Dixon, wife of co-owner Dan Aykroyd, said, “It’s so fabulous, but the important thing is that it’s spiritual.”
Eyebrows shot up when people heard that Calvin Klein would appear Monday night on CNN’s “Larry King Live.” But, according to a Calvin Klein spokeswoman, the designer’s appearance had “nothing to do with” the release of “Obsession,” the new unauthorized tell-all of Klein’s life.
“He’s a friend of Larry’s and decided to do it,” she said. “It’s not to discuss the book,” she insisted. “It’s about Calvin’s life, his work and a profile of him.”
