Bloomingdale’s is promoting “The New Length” for the first time — in a New York TImes ad running today, featuring a sleeveless rayon crepe dress by Parallel. The dress is cut on the bias and falls to mid-knee, said Kal Ruttenstein. “It had an ease and a grace to it, lacking in some of the micro-minis this season. We’re anxious to see our customers’ reaction.” The $198 dress will be sold in the Y.E.S. department.
Donna Shalala, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, is doing her best to keep the economy healthy — at least the economy of Louis Feraud.
Although she already has half a dozen Ferauds in her closet, Shalala was spotted at a fashion show in Washington on Monday noting her preferences on the program sheet.
She said afterward she has her eye on several outfits from the fall/winter collection, including a velvet suit.
“Feraud clothes travel well for someone like me,” she said, looking snappy in a coral-colored Feraud suit with gold buttons.
Donna Karan is a grandmother for the third time. Her stepdaughter, Lisa Keyes, gave birth to a boy Tuesday afternoon. Keys and her husband, Thomas, named him Miles.
