SUPERSIZE ME: Pop Burger, the slick boîte where Meatpacking District partiers satisfy their post-cocktail cravings, will open another outpost in October, next door to Bergdorf Goodman’s men’s store on Fifth Avenue. “I just love that area…the Apple store is right there,” gushes owner Roy Liebenthal. Sure, the neighborhood is known for its shopping, but when it comes to dining, Liebenthal says, the options are limited to finer places like BG, Michael’s, Fred’s or Harry Cipriani. “There is either formal dining or take-out delis. I want to fill a niche, like Serendipity did in the Sixties.”

To that end, the restaurant’s menu of thick milk shakes and eclectic entrées like grilled baby lamb chops will remain the same as its downtown counterpart. But the fare will get new uptown-appropriate digs: a dining room, lounge, billiards room and take-out area throughout three stories. Liebenthal hopes to attract “an international crowd.” And if that weren’t jet-set enough, he is also in talks with JetBlue to open Pop Burger branches in airline terminals.
