NEW YORK — After practically stealing the show in the front row of the Narciso Rodriguez show on Tuesday night, where she was besieged by photographers and reporters alike, Rachel Weisz made her way, along with fiancé Darren Aronofsky, to a much quieter dinner for the designer at Indochine.
Jessica Seinfeld stopped in with husband Jerry to pay respects to good pal Rodriguez. “This is my first time out of the house since I had the baby,” said Mrs. Seinfeld, who gave birth three weeks ago to baby boy Shepherd, but still managed to fit into her black Narciso frock. “Well, I did take my kids out for haircuts.”
Claire Danes slipped into the party (hosted by Gran Centenario Tequila) and into the banquette with Weisz and Rodriguez, joining the other party goers who kicked back in the low-key atmosphere, the dim lighting and serene scene, a respite from the havoc of fashion week.
Well before midnight, Danes, with fellow Yalie and BFF Jamil Moen, made her excuses and left. The “Shopgirl” actress is doing an hour-long interpretive dance performance at PS 122 starting next week that she was resting up for. “That’s a long time to be alone on the stage dancing,” said Danes.
Weisz, for her part, is preparing for her upcoming nuptials. And the wedding dress? Well, Narciso, of course. Though Rodriguez hesitated when asked if he was designing it, after much pondering, he was ready to spill the beans or, at least, some beans. “I think it would be safe to say that both will be walking down the aisle, and both will be wearing something I designed,” Rodriguez said of the soon-to-be bride and groom.
