Joe Zee, in his first Globes-themed event as editor in chief of Yahoo Style, threw a tea party at République on Thursday for “The Theory of Everything” stars Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne. Perhaps party organizers could take a cue from the event’s brevity. “You mean it’s only one hour? That’s brilliant,” said Redmayne. “It’s just a drive-by,” said Zee, who wisely adopted the Los Angeles parlance knowing how tightly scheduled his guests of honors are this week. Even Naomi Campbell, who’s not nominated for any awards but seems to be enjoying Globes week nonetheless, stopped by for a hot minute to meet her fellow Brits. Jones even stayed past her 60 minutes. “I love fashion events because I’m like, ‘Oh, I really want that dress’ and ‘She looks great.’ You get some good tips,” she said. But mostly she enjoyed hearing what guests had to say about her Best Actress-nominated turn in the tearjerker film. “I’m sad that we make you cry, but we don’t mean to. It’s good that you’re moved,” she said. “It’s a character-driven film, it’s about people, and that’s a rare thing in film these days so I’m just enjoying every minute of it.”
