AMAZING GRACE: Designers, models and royalty rubbed shoulders at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum on Thursday night, to fete the launch of its exhibition “Grace Kelly: Style Icon.”
“This tribute is a source of great pride,” said Prince Albert II of Monaco of the show, which charts his mother’s timeless elegance though the display of 40 dresses by designers including Christian Dior, Balenciaga and Givenchy.
Guests including Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex, Prince Albert’s girlfriend Charlene Wittstock, Erin O’Conner and Erdem Moraliogu gathered in the museum’s grand central atrium.
“Her style was so classic and that makes it modern,” said Moralioglu, who designs under the Erdem label. “I’m sure there are Balenciaga and Dior dresses in the exhibition that you could wear today.”
The exhibition opens Saturday and runs through to September.
