Rodeo Drive transformed into a chic block party on Sunday night as Missoni and Iman became the 17th and 18th inductees on the famed thoroughfare’s Walk of Style.
“Our family believes that elegance can be informal and fashion can be fun,” said Angela Missoni, as she accepted the Robert Graham-sculpted award from longtime pal Quincy Jones. The Missoni clan — including founders Ottavio (Tai) and Rosita; their children Angela, Vittorio and Luca, and grandchildren Margherita, Ottavio Jr. and Jennifer — was on hand for its honor as was Iman, who chose to dress down for the occasion.

“It would be too convoluted to wear a ballgown,” the model-turned-mogul said. Instead, she asked Rachel Zoe, who presented her award, to design her an outfit.
“She does Seventies ease well, which was really my generation,” Iman said. But that didn’t stop her from adding bling. “I went into Fred Leighton and said, ‘Pile them up,’” she said of the chunky gold and diamond bangles on each arm. While her husband, David Bowie, was absent, his song “Fashion” played as the intro for each speech given and film reel shown, which kept the crowd, including Sofia Vergara and Eva Chow, bobbing their heads in time. Before the ceremony, Iman greeted the Missoni patriarch in Italian inside the Rodeo Drive boutique.
“I don’t know many English words, so I have three answers for everything,” he said. “‘Really?’ ‘Maybe’ and ‘Sometimes.’ It works.”
“I modeled in a lot of Missoni shows back in the day, so we know each other well,” Iman said, as one onlooker snapped a picture with an iPhone in a Missoni for Target case.
“I couldn’t believe it when I heard how fast that collection sold out,” said Jones. “You know, I don’t drive, so I’m considering getting one of those bicycles.”
