It’s easy to overlook how much black New Yorkers wear — especially for black tie — until everyone shows up in pretty pastel floral frocks, as occurred Tuesday night at MoMA’s annual Party in the Garden. From Jo Carole Lauder, one of the evening’s honorees, in an emerald green Prada print to Renee Rockefeller in crisp white, guests including Lauren duPont, Patricia Lansing, Yvonne Force Villareal, Glenn Close and Aerin Lauder turned out in refreshing spring looks. Even hipster fave Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who performed for the young folk after the dinner for the more established patrons, got in on the act with an embroidered tunic by her designer pal Christian Joy. Now that’s what we call flower power.
