LONDON — The London fashion and design worlds collided Thursday night, and at all the parties it seemed the only thing anyone wanted was a chance at the DJ turntables.
Alasdhair Willis, also known as Stella McCartney‘s other half, and his business partners took over a sprawling bus depot in northeast London to celebrate their new furniture company, Established & Sons. McCartney, happy to surrender the spotlight to her husband, partied with guests including her big sis, Mary; Anouck Lepere; Giancarlo Giammetti, and Jay Jopling. Meanwhile Lepere’s paramour, Jefferson Hack, and Sam Taylor-Wood spent the evening spinning tunes. “It’s such fun and so refreshing being in an environment that’s not fashion,” McCartney rejoiced.
Earlier that evening, DKNY and Wallpaper magazine joined forces to fete a string of young fashion, textile, furniture and graphic designers at the DKNY Bond Street store, where their work is being displayed. There, Gavin Turk acted as DJ for partygoers such as Graham Norton and Tom Dixon.
