After a facelift this summer, Sotheby’s York Avenue restaurant — formerly Bid — will reopen Tuesday as Bid Brasserie. But a sleeker, sexier decor isn’t the only change. Owner and operator Tentation Catering installed an expanded bar/lounge area, a new chef and new menu. Standouts include the lobster club, chopped salads and the flight of burgers. But while the art on the walls — by Frank Stella, David Hockney and Alexander Coleman — might put visitors in a buying mood, chef Jonathan Leff says the cuisine won’t upstage its setting. “My food doesn’t compete with the art,” he says. “It has to go with it.”
