Cate Blanchett scored nominations for both best actress and best supporting actress as the nominees for the Academy Awards were announced Tuesday morning.

Blanchett received her best actress nomination for her starring role in “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” and her best supporting actress slot for “I’m Not There.”

Other best actress nominations went to Julie Christie for “Away From Her,” for which she won a Golden Globe; Marion Cotillard for “La Vie En Rose”; Laura Linney, “The Savages,” and Ellen Page, “Juno.”

In addition to Blanchett, best supporting actress nominees were Ruby Dee, “American Gangster”; Saoirse Ronan, “Atonement”; Amy Ryan, “Gone Baby Gone,” and Tilda Swinton, “Michael Clayton.

The Academy Awards gala is scheduled for Feb. 24 in Los Angeles, but its status has been put in jeopardy by the three-month-long writers’ strike.
