“The Earth is my studio!” photographer Jamel Shabazz announced Friday night at Les Deux Café in Hollywood. “The universe is my studio!” As Shabazz snapped away with a tiny camera, guests including Macy Gray, Tracee Ellis Ross and China Chow admired his photos of Eighties-era hip-hop fans in their Gazelle glasses, Kangol hats and Adidas.
But while Shabazz’s old-school subjects couldn’t have been more macho, a party in honor of Rebecca Bloom’s debut novel, “Girl Anatomy,” held at the Tracey Ross boutique, couldn’t have been more, well, girly. Guests, including Joey Lauren Adams, Bridget Moynahan and Azura Skye, sat for makeovers, manicures and handwriting analysis, while aspiring actress Paris Hilton read a few pages of Bloom’s book aloud for the crowd.

“I read, like, a chapter last night and it’s definitely a girl book,” she said. “It’s, like, girl power.”
