Life seemed to imitate art as Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi leaned over a third-story balcony at Louis Vuitton’s party Wednesday night, echoing a crucial scene in “Babel” in which Kikuchi’s troubled teenager character seemed poised to take a suicide leap. Mind you, Kikuchi was decked out in a killer black Vuitton minidress – and was simply enjoying a smoke and breathtaking views of the Arc de Triomphe. “Perfect place,” she exhaled, flashing a big smile and a circular diamond pendant.
Simultaneously, in the next window, Camilla Belle had a friend snap her photo with the unreal backdrop. The luxury goods house unveiled its new high jewelry collection by Lorenz Bäumer, including a 30.12-carat flower-cut diamond that drew gasps. But Russell Brand appeared oblivious to the dazzle of the gems, having eyes only for Katy Perry, whom he kept at his side all the time. “Isn’t she great?” he said.

While on hiatus from taping “Gossip Girl,” Leighton Meester has readied a single, “Somebody to Love,” for release later this month. Asked if she’d found her somebody to love, she replied coyly, “Me? Oh I love everyone!” Meester also has done two films slated for release next year: “Date Night,” a comedy in which she plays a babysitter alongside Tina Fey, and “The Roommate,” a psychological thriller.
After perusing Vuitton’s new jewels, Belle fell bewitched by the pink-and-white set, adding, “They were all stunning.”
