The list is published in recognition of the service and achievements of extraordinary people in the United Kingdom, and this year included a Special Honours List to recognize the Olympians, Paralympians and the most successful coaches, following Team GB’s success at the Games.
Also appearing on the list was Caryn Franklin, fashion communicator and founder of All Walks Beyond the Catwalk, who was named a Master of the British Empire for her services to diversity in the fashion industry. Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfenden, the cofounders of handmade jewelry brand Tatty Devine, were also named MBEs.
The face of Belstaff, Ewan McGregor, was awarded an OBE for his services to acting and charity — he works closely with UNICEF. Other figures named on the list included Quentin Blake, who was knighted for his services to illustration, while industrial designer Kenneth Grange received a knighthood for his services to design. Artist Tracey Emin and singer-songwriter Kate Bush both were named Commanders of the Order of the British Empire.
