Alfred Dunhill has been keeping London’s socials pretty busy. First, Viscount and Viscountess Linley hosted a party at the Dunhill store to mark the end of their around-the-world tour to promote the Viscount’s humidors for Dunhill.
A bunch of the Linleys’ friends and relatives showed up — including the Princess of Wales, who barreled through the door with chum Kate Menzies as if she were trying to break a tackle.
The Linleys weren’t exhibiting jet lag or any other ill effects from being out late the night before at a charity premiere of the film “Maverick,” where Serena Linley delighted the photographers by showing off a low-cut, figure-hugging Herve LegÄr dress.
A few days later, socials were out en masse for the annual Queen’s Cup, sponsored by Dunhill.
Robert Downey Jr., who’s in London making “Restoration” with Meg Ryan, Hugh Grant and David Thewlis, showed up in a typically British deerstalker, while the normally outrageous Vivienne Westwood was clad in Regency-style stripes. “She looks more like the Queen every day,” said Ashley Lloyd-Jennings.
