SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — Nina Griscom‘s parties, summer or otherwise, rarely feature buff boys in skimpy bikinis, but last Friday night at her summer home, they were the center of attention.
Clad in Michael Kors printed swimwear and sporting serious tans, the un-self-conscious models traipsed around the lawn offering spritzes of Hampton Sun, a sunscreen product Griscom carries in her shop, to normally reticent socials. Helen Schifter, for one, politely declined. “I don’t want to attract the bugs,” she laughed.
Griscom played hostess to the likes of Ahmet and Mica Ertegun, Bettina Zilkha, Vera Wang and Ines Rivero. “I’m a walking advertisement for my store,” joked Griscom, layered in colorful necklaces as she greeted guests. Even her daughter, Lily Baker, was indoctrinated into the way of the summer social scene. The 12-year-old handled it with aplomb, even when taking a break in mommy’s lap.
Earlier in the day, similarly fashion-minded ladies gathered at Patty Raynes‘ Southampton home for a lunch in honor of designer Douglas Hannant. Amid the cajun shrimp and grilled corn salad, his loyal supporters, including Debbie Bancroft, Lorraine Bracco, Lourdes Fanjul, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, Alex Kramer and Julie Frist, watched models in designs from his latest resort collection parade up and down poolside.
