Snow or no snow, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas from the elegant windows of Bergdorf Goodman, done by the one and only Linda Fargo and featuring the clothes of Roberto Cavalli and Maggie Norris. The same can be said of the private club Doubles, where Joan Collins was to be seen in a shocking pink fur hat, Joan Rivers in a brown and white tweed jacket with a sable collar, Carolyne Roehm in a white suit with gold piping, Karen LeFrak in red with three poodle pins on her shoulder, Evelyn Lauder in a smashing blue suit and Thorunn Wathne fashionable in black. Doubles was all done up for the holidays in garlands and trees and wreaths and enough baubles, bows and tinsel to sink a less-sturdy establishment. There were strolling carolers and a Santa you could cozy up to whether you’d been naughty or nice.

Owen Wilson is down in Argentina learning to play polo. Why is anybody’s guess. He is renting a little casita on the famous Tortugas ranch and spending his days in the saddle and his nights at the Tequila nightclub in nearby Buenos Aires surrounded by pretty senoritas. What Owen is doing at the Tequila is a no-brainer.

Jude Law’s 22-year-old flame, Sienna Miller, is thrilled to itty, bitty bits — as is he — that she will grace the cover of Vanity Fair’s Oscar issue in February. Sienna will be seen alongside such Hollywood staples as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Uma Thurman, Cate Blanchett, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Bosworth and Rosario Dawson

Mariah Carey is designing her own line of lingerie.  She is calling it “Mariah Kiss Kiss,” which is a nod to her favorite star, Marilyn Monroe’s, famous song from the thriller “Niagra.” The songbird wants the sexy underwear to enhance the bodies of women of all shapes and sizes. With any luck, they will be in a store near you in the spring, timed just after the release of Mariah’s new album, “The Emancipation of Mimi.” I can wait for the album if you can wait for the thong.

Naomi Campbell and Elle Macpherson’s ex-boyfriend, the Italian millionaire Flavio Briatore who fathered Heidi Klum’s infant daughter, Leni, is romancing Tamara Mellon, the estranged wife of Matthew Mellon. The new two have been quietly dating and traveling together since meeting earlier this year.  Last week, they appeared together publicly for the first time at the London premiere of “The Phantom of the Opera.” Is there anyone left anywhere for Flavio Briatore to date?

For all of you who started shopping for Christmas and wedding presents for Renée Zellweger and Jack White, make sure you keep your receipts. Supposed to be on again, they are very off again. All the talk about their announcing their wedding plans at an elaborate holiday party at Renée’s Hollywood home has given the couple not only cold feet, but cold everything else. They say the split is amicable, so maybe they’ll get together again. After all, who wants to spend New Year’s Eve alone?

Nicole Kidman is wearing bandages on both her pretty little knees. She says she has needed surgery for cartilage injuries she suffered while dancing in “Moulin Rouge.” The catty crowd says you should look for slimmer knees once spring rolls around. Whatever that means. Nicole will be spending the holidays in a $40,000-a-week villa in Sydney with her two children and, yes, Steve Bing has been invited.

Keira Knightley was injured on the set of her latest movie, “Domino,” when a bullet from a stunt gun bounced off the wall and hit her — well, somewhere. She got a bad bump and a little singe but didn’t miss a day of work. What a star.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is working on turning his hit, “Sunset Boulevard,” into what he hopes will be a silver-screen blockbuster. Webber has already got Anthony Hopkins and Hugh Jackman all but signed and is negotiating with Glenn Close, who played the Norma Desmond role on Broadway to great acclaim. If things don’t work out with Glenn, Weber is considering Meryl Streep, who can also carry a tune with the best of them.

Princess Caroline of Hanover couldn’t be happier that her 20-year-old son, Andrea Casiraghi, is dating Colombian beauty and heiress, Tatiana Santo Domingo, whose family owns Avianca Airlines in South America plus huge interests in just about everything else in the country. Andrea and Tatiana, who have been secretly dating since July, were recently seen in London, where Tatiana is studying at the American Intercontinental University, and in Paris, where they spent a night with Andrea’s little sister, Charlotte, the cutie who introduced them this summer in Ibiza.

The stork has arrived for Billy Baldwin and his wife, Chynna Phillips carrying 7-pound, 6-ounce Brooke Michelle, who will join the couple’s four-year-old daughter and two-year-old son. Billy and Chynna think this is the greatest Christmas present they have ever had because they did not believe a third child would be an option. More good news: Bridget Fonda is expecting her first child with her composer husband, Danny Elfman. The baby is due in February.
