Oh, happy day! Miguel Baez and Carolina Herrera Baez are expecting! Just to remind you, he is the gorgeous, famous, former Spanish bullfighter, practically a rock star in Spain. She is the even more gorgeous and talented daughter of Carolina and Reinaldo Herrera of New York who are not too shabby themselves. Mickey — as he is called — and Carolina were married in June in Spain in a beautiful ceremony at the great bullfighting finca of the Baez family in a picturesque little chapel on the estate built especially for the ceremony. The gentry came from all around and even such a personage as the King of Spain’s sister, the Duchess of Badajoz, a big family friend, motored over from her finca just to be there. As for mummy Carolina Herrera, she will show her spring 2005 collection Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Theater at Bryant Park. She’s taking all the excitement in stride because she’s hard to ruffle. She’s had many a fashion show before this and she’s also been a grandmother before, via her other three beautiful daughters, though you’d never know it to look at her — those legs!

Oh, unhappy day! Bunky Hearst, a scion of the famous publishing family, and his wife, Barbara, are getting a divorce after all those years. Bunky, the forever witty son of the late Jack Hearst and the nephew of the late William Randolph Hearst Jr. and the late Randolph Hearst, and a cousin of all those Hearst girls you never stop reading about, has been through all this before, having been married twice previously. He suggests he may be in a rut, but what he’s really doing is joining a very big club.

Nicole Kidman, now at the Venice Film Festival, is amusing Anne Heche and Lauren Bacall, her co-stars in the new movie, “Birth,” by twitching her nose at the most inappropriate times possible, dissolving everyone into gales of laughter. Apparently, it doesn’t take much.

Nicole is having such a fun time showing off what she learned after a month of facial relaxation exercises from a yoga instructor so that she could twitch her nose convincingly for her role as Samantha in the movie version of “Bewitched.” And, here, everyone thought she had an allergy.

Good news for Julia Roberts and her husband, Danny Moder. Doctors have told them that the twins they are expecting are a little girl and a little boy. And Queen Rania of Jordan, who just turned 34, is expecting her fourth child early next year.

As for Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, they are spending more than a million dollars renovating the $7 million house she bought earlier this year from Kate Winslet in London. The work includes a new suite of rooms for baby Apple and her nanny; guest quarters for Gwyneth’s mother, Blythe Danner, and a specially equipped kitchen for Gwyn’s macrobiotic needs. For safety’s sake, the couple is building a six-foot security wall, adding iron gates to the entrance and other elaborate security measures. Gwyneth says she’d like to have another child and that having her baby daughter was “better than winning an Oscar.” That good?

Eva Herzigova is registering her initials — EH to you — as an international trademark, which will be the name of her new line of underwear. She is following on the heels or whatever of Elle Macpherson and Kylie Minogue, who have both launched successful lingerie lines. Now that her curvaceous figure is back to her Wonderbra days, who better than herself to model the line she’ll help design? She’s already talking about expanding her brand to include handbags, wallets and luggage. And if that’s not enough, she’s thinking of doing a cosmetics line. If there’s an end to her talent, she hasn’t heard about it.

As all New York knows by now, 7th on Sixth kicks off today and will continue with fashion shows and parties for seven days. Emilia Fanjul, Olivia Chantecaille and Tinsley Mortimer will give a dinner for their pal, Alvin Valley, at Milieu after his Bohemian Collection, to be shown at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Tomorrow, Tory Burch debuts her fall line of separates and accessories at Bergdorf Goodman, which will carry her designs exclusively on the seventh floor. Next Tuesday, such as Lally Weymouth, Tara Rockefeller and Lorraine Bracco have all promised to perch in the front row for Douglas Hannant’s spring show in the tents and at his luncheon afterward in the Bryant Park Hotel. And that’s only the beginning. There are lots more just like them. Well, maybe not just like them, but they’re all trying to do something different and wonderful.

Princess Yasmin Aga Khan may well be one of the world’s most devoted daughters. She adored her beautiful mother, the dazzling movie star, Rita Hayworth, and cared for her personally in her last years before Rita succumbed to Alzheimer’s. Every year for the past 20, Yasmin has kept her mother’s spirit alive and celebrated her life at a gala in Rita’s honor that’s fills the Waldorf’s Grand Ballroom and raises tremendous sums of money for Alzheimer’s research. (In the past 19 years, the party has raised nearly $38 million.) The theme of this year’s gala, on Oct. 5, is Beauty Under the Big Top and that night Yasmin will be honored with the Alzheimer’s Association Lifetime Achievement Award, and Maria Shriver, Our Lady of the Cheekbones and Mrs. Arnold Schwarzenegger in private life — as if you didn’t know — will receive the Alzheimer’s Awareness Award. Guests are being asked to wear Black Tie or Circus Chic. Circus chic? You mean send in the clowns?
