Jennifer Lopez clears a cool $10 million for the sale of her Beverly Hills mansion…The royal grandkids grow up…Bridget’s bra woes.

Jennifer Lopez just sold her Los Angeles mansion for $10 million. The Beverly Hills estate that she previously called home comes with four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a projection room, a tennis court and a swimming pool. The idea, presumably, is to start her new life on a clean slate or, as they say in showbiz, a tabula rasa.

Queen Elizabeth II’s grandchildren are growing up in a big hurry. One of them, Zara Phillips, the Princess Royal’s daughter, was at Buckingham Palace this week holding hands with her boyfriend of nine months, Mike Tindall, who was receiving the Order of the British Empire, along with the rest of England’s World Cup Team. Another grandchild, Princess Beatrice, daughter of the Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson, is fast becoming the Queen’s most fashionable grandchild. The 16-year-old captured the spotlight in a black chiffon dress over which she wore a gray jacket with a ribbon belt and four-inch burgundy high heels. It looked better than it sounds.

Kirsten Dunst asked Susan Sarandon her beauty secrets and here’s what she told her: “I truly think that being happy makes you look good and I don’t smoke.” That’s it? Whatever happened to long baths in ass’ milk?

It’s not all spite and malice in Washington. One can always count on the trusted Old Guard to carry on and push forward and what better example of civility than Buffy Cafritz’s luncheon to celebrate Bettina Zilkha’s recent book, “Ultimate Style”? Buffy is a Washington hostess of note and practically adored by Republicans and Democrats alike, socially speaking. Her luncheon guests represented administrations from John Kennedy’s to George W. Bush’s, with Karyn Frist, wife of Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, leading the pack. Lunching on crab and pepper cakes, California salad and warm apple crisp with politics off the table were Deeda Blair; Capricia Marshall, who was Hillary Clinton’s social secretary in the White House, Rima Al-Sabah, the wife of the Kuwaiti ambassador, and Terre Hamlisch, wife of Marvin Hamlisch. It was, believe it or not in that town, fun.

Catching up with the parties: Casita Maria’s fiesta at the Plaza seemed to make even the most jaded gala goer perk right up. Wolfgang and Anne Eisenhower-Flottl were the honorary chairmen and Jackie Weld Drake — along with Joanne de Guardiola, Christine Schwarzman and Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia — were the dinner chairmen. All sorts of partygoers — young, beautiful and a bit on the older side — filled the grand ballroom of the Plaza. They were called to dinner by a rousing mariachi band and, thanks to Phillip Baloun, the room was beautifully transformed with tall centerpieces of orchids and ostrich feathers in hot pink, magenta and orange. Mario Buatta presided as master of ceremonies — as only he can — and Casita Maria Gold Medals of Honor were awarded to Lewis Ranieri, the chairman of American Ballet Theatre; to Pfizer’s chief financial officer, David Shedlarz, and to Liliana and Federico Sada of Mexico for their philanthropic largesse. Dancing with soft pink light washing over them were such partygoers on the floor as Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill, Patty Cisneros, Marina and Francesco Galesi, Sharon King Hoge, Mary McFadden, Adrienne and Gianluigi Vittadini and on and on into the night. Viva Casita Maria!

Renée Zellweger is shedding tears all over her B-cups because she has lost all those extra pounds she put on for her new role in “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.” She says she misses her big breasts. “It was a sad day when I had to retire my C-cup bras to the underwear drawer. I would have kept them if I could. Believe me, I would.” She just didn’t fill them out anymore. Renée also says she misses the attention she got from men. “Guys don’t find the skinny look attractive.” Well, it worked for Audrey Hepburn, but it’s still hell on legs.

Gwyneth Paltrow will have former fiancé Brad Pitt’s ring on her finger once again and her husband, Chris Martin, says he could care less. Of course, there’s a reason for this. Gwyneth is part of a new campaign by Italian jeweler Damiani, which has hired Gwynny as its new spokesperson, and Brad designs a line of diamond-studded platinum wedding bands for the same company.
