Dita Von Teese can add award host to her growing résumé.
The burlesque star will host the 2016 Femmy Awards, which celebrates individuals and companies that have contributed to the intimate apparel industry.
Von Teese launched her own lingerie collection in 2011, and recently told WWD that her first job was at a lingerie store.
Those being recognized include retailer Amazon Fashion; manufacturer Richard Leeds International; supplier Best Pacific/New Horizon; Lane Bryant/Cacique, which will receive the Innovation Award; Martin Trust, founder and former chief executive officer of Mast Industries, who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Francesca Spinetta, co-owner and editorial director of Best of Intima, who will receive the President’s Award.
The awards will take place on Feb. 2 at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan and are presented by The Underfashion Club, a nonprofit organization that’s dedicated to education within the intimate apparel industry.
