NEW YORK — Lara Stone will be featured as the face for Naked Glamour, Calvin Klein Underwear’s new advertising campaign this fall.
The news was revealed Wednesday at the annual meeting of The Warnaco Group Inc., which owns the Calvin Klein Underwear and Jeans businesses. Joe Gromek, Warnaco’s chief executive officer, told WWD he had viewed the ad images on Tuesday for the new product launch.
“It’s a very compelling campaign,” said Gromek.
Helen McCluskey, Warnaco’s chief operating officer, described the ad images as “traditional Calvin Klein, black-and-white, with incredible eye contact…it’s about lifestyle, it’s sexy, and images are up close with cleavage.”
Actress Zoe Saldana presently appears in the ads for the Envy campaign for Calvin Klein Underwear. Saldana signed an exclusive deal beginning fall 2010.
When asked if Stone will succeed Saldana in the Envy ads, a spokeswoman for Calvin Klein Inc. replied, “There is no replacement.”
Stone is also part of a global advertising campaign shot by Steven Meisel for lifestyle brand ck one that features a group including Pixie Geldof, Ruby Aldridge, Sky Ferreira, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Alice Dellal and Fei Fei Sun. The spring 2011 campaign encompasses TV, print, the Internet and social media. In January, Stone began appearing in Calvin Klein Collection TV commercials with Tyson Ballou, and is featured in the spring print women’s Collection ads shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
Earlier, Stone signed an exclusive deal with Calvin Klein Inc. as the face for Calvin Klein Collection, ck Calvin Klein and Calvin Klein Jeans for fall 2010. Stone is no stranger to the company. She was an exclusive model in the spring 2007 Collection runway show, and was in the fall 2007 Calvin Klein Jeans and fall 2008 ck Calvin Klein Beauty campaigns.
