Super comes to Guess following six years in senior merchandising roles, including vice president and gmm of accessories, footwear and fragrance at American Eagle Outfitters Inc. Earlier she spent four years in a variety of merchandising management roles at the Gap and Old Navy units of Gap Inc.
“Her relentless focus on brand integrity, execution and on the customers has allowed her to grow great businesses and her accomplishments as a leader are exemplary,” Marciano said.
The appointments follow the departure of Nancy Shachtman, the longtime Guess executive who’d most recently served as president of North America, as the company has dealt with declining profits overall and challenging sales results within its worldwide retail network.
Marciano also indicated last month that the Los Angeles-based jeanswear company, contrary to its original plan, would seek a successor to Michael Prince as chief operating officer. Prince resigned in November.
Last year, Guess’s profits fell by a third to $178.7 million as revenue dropped 1.1 percent to $2.66 billion.
