Harriet Sustarsic has joined True Religion Apparel Inc. in the new post of senior vice president and general merchandise manager.
Sustarsic resigned as chief merchandising officer of The Wet Seal Inc.’s Wet Seal division last month and had been expected to join True Religion.
In other appointments at the Vernon, Calif.-based producer and marketer of premium jeans and sportswear, Angela Furlong has joined the firm as senior designer for women’s; Jennifer Gross has joined as director of licensing, and Jill Borkan has joined as director of public relations.
Sustarsic reports to Lynne Koplin, president, and Furlong and Gross report to Jeffrey Lubell, chairman, chief executive officer and chief merchant of the company. Borkan reports to Leanna Levy, director of marketing.
Sustarsic had served in her post at Wet Seal for a year following six years with Guess Inc., most recently as senior vice president and gmm of the North American retail units. Earlier in her career, she was president and chief merchant at Charlotte Russe Holdings Inc. and held posts with Rampage Clothing and Contempo Casuals.
Furlong’s work history includes positions with Citizens of Humanity, where she was women’s designer for two years; Lucky Brand; Guess, and William Rast/People’s Liberation. Gross was licensing director at Kellwood Co. and previously held positions with Juicy Couture and Seven For All Mankind. Borkan had been in a p.r. capacity with French Connection following stints at several p.r. agencies.

For the holidays, @Burberry partnered with 20-year-old artist @blondeymccoy on a series of three outdoor murals in downtown Manhattan. The murals are McCoy’s interpretation of a Christmas eve party, the idea of charity and the spirit of family. His third mural, pictured here, is the most personal. In a partnership between the @metopera and the @englishnationalopera, “Marnie” was born. The opera, with costumes sponsored by @mrporterlive, is an adaptation of the 1961 thriller by Winston Graham.
