Sarah Choufani has joined Joe’s Jeans Inc., the Los Angeles-based premium denim company, in the new post of vice president of international sales.
Choufani was previously the international sales director for the Robert Rodriguez collection, which was acquired by The Jones Group in 2010. In that capacity, she placed the line in more than 35 countries around the world and with accounts including Harrods and Lane Crawford.
“We are committed to grow Joe’s globally and we are pleased to have Sarah’s wealth of knowledge and experience in the international marketplace,” said Marc Crossman, president and chief executive officer of Joe’s, to whom Choufani reports.
Choufani will represent Joe’s at the upcoming Premium show in Berlin and at Who’s Next in Paris. “We are excited to showcase the brand abroad and to capitalize on the opportunities in these markets,” Crossman said.
International was a bright spot for Joe’s during the third quarter ended Aug. 31, when sales outside the U.S. rose 52 percent as part of a 25.7 percent increase in wholesale volume to $24.8 million. “Our growth came mostly from our Canadian and Japanese distributors, as our women’s denim continued to perform well in these markets.”
Crossman added, “Having successfully restructured our European operations, our international sales channel is improving both its top- and bottom-line performance.”
“I was touched by the fact that she lost her father, really before his time, and it was a real shock. She had two young children, she was married and she was expecting that she would have her own life for a good 25 years,” said Claire Foy about playing a young Queen Elizabeth in Netflix’s The Crown. “It transcends the genre that is you think of a sci-fi show — you don’t expect it to be so profound or emotionally riveting,” Evan Rachel Wood told WWD of her Emmy nominated role in Westworld. styled by @samanthamcmillen_stylist 📸 @emmanmontalvan #emmys2017 #wwdeye
