LONDON — The British Fashion Council said Thursday that the labels 1205, Marques’Almeida, Lucas Nascimento and Simone Rocha would receive catwalk sponsorship for the fall-winter 2014 season as part of the longstanding NewGen scheme, sponsored by Topshop.
Ryan Lo has won presentation sponsorship, while Claire Barrow and Danielle Romeril have secured funds to show at the BFC exhibition space.
NewGen is a program that supports emerging labels whose aim is to build global, high-end fashion brands. It offers designers financial support and showcasing opportunities at London Fashion Week.
In addition to funding, the BFC, the NewGen committee and Topshop offer support and business advice to assist the designers.
Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane, Nicholas Kirkwood, Mary Katrantzou and J.W. Anderson are among the past winners of the scheme, introduced in 1993.
Alberta Ferretti's "Rainbow Week" sweaters are back. The designer closed her #MFW show with a few day-of-the-week sweaters, which first debuted on the catwalk last January as part of the pre-fall 2017 collection. #wwdfashion (📷: @delphineachard)
