LONDON — Sarah Manley has been promoted to chief marketing officer at Burberry.

Manley has been with Burberry for nine years, beginning under former chief executive officer Rose Marie Bravo, and most recently held the post of senior vice president of marketing and communications. She will continue to report to Burberry’s current ceo, Angela Ahrendts.

“Over the last nine years at Burberry, Sarah’s close partnership with Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s chief creative officer, and innovative evolution of the global marketing team” have been instrumental in building the brand’s marketing platform, said Ahrendts. “Sarah is one of the most strategic, insightful, connected marketing executives in the industry today.”

Manley oversees all aspects of public relations, marketing, external and internal communications, and advertising globally.

Prior to joining Burberry, Manley worked in New York for Internet luxury accessories retailer LuxLook.com. Before that, she held p.r. positions at Yves Saint Laurent and Polo Ralph Lauren in London.
