LONDON — Burberry has named William Kim to the new post of senior vice president, digital commerce.

Kim, who reports to Burberry chief executive Angela Ahrendts, will be responsible for the global relaunch of the digital commerce platform into a virtual flagship that connects with Burberry stores worldwide.

“This newly created position will allow Burberry to focus additional resources on this high-growth channel, while delivering the ultimate brand and luxury experience to consumers globally,” Ahrendts said.

Kim most recently held the position of vice president South East Asia for Burberry. He joined Burberry in November 2005 as chief financial officer, Korea. Previously, he was vice president and cfo for Gucci in the U.S.
