In 2010, Delphine Arnault set her sights on working with famed German artist Anselm Reyle, he of the neon lights and foil paintings. During Paris Fashion Week in October, the collection was finally unveiled: Lady Dior and Miss Dior bags, small leather goods, shoes, eye shadow, nail polish, costume jewelry and sunglasses, all in wild camouflage and Day-Glo colors.
Fast forward to Monday. It’s a big day for Dior as two major milestones are converging: the house’s first pop-up shop and first artist collaboration. Arnault, Dior’s deputy general manager, is in Miami seeing the space for the first time. It’s 10:53 a.m. Her first comment: “It’s fun, no?”
