LONDON — Copenhagen International Fashion Fair plans to add an artistic twist to the fourth edition of Crystal Hall, a section of the premium trade show that highlights designer sportswear from brands including Peter Jensen, Carven and Christopher Raeburn.
Located at the entrance of CIFF, Crystal Hall is curated by Arnaud Vanraet, Pierre Tzenkoff, and CIFF fashion and design director Kristian Andersen. For the next showcase, which runs from Aug. 3 to 6, CIFF has commissioned the Malcolm Mclaren Estate and Off-White’s Virgil Abloh to create art for the 7,500-square-foot space.
This includes a range of music-themed designs that McLaren created with Vivienne Westwood, ranging from rare fashion spreads from the Seventies and Eighties to footage of the runway shows that he and Vivienne Westwood produced.
Abloh's installation is described as a sensory showcase that mimics a walk along the beach with the use of misty fans, seaside sounds and visual effects.
Peter Kim's Los Angeles-based premium denim line has always had its finger on the pulse of youth. This season, novelty is back in a way reminiscent of early Aughts, with studs, lace-ups, racing waxed denim and more. "I was driving back on Saturday afternoon from the beach, and I just saw this sign saying 'Skydiving for $95.' And I was like, I can't not sky dive for $95," says Tom Bateman about a moment in Hawaii while shooting "Snatched." #wwdeye (📷: @vsteves; Interview by @ktauer; Styled by @thealexbadia)
