Alfred Dunhill, the British men’s luxury brand, has named Eric Jones brand president of North America. Jones joins the company after a long career with Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. in both retail and wholesale, as well as Oxxford Clothes and Hartmarx Corp.

The appointment is a key component of Alfred Dunhill’s efforts to lay foundations for U.S. expansion.

“Plans are very aggressive to open freestanding stores as well as establish partnerships with key department and specialty stores in premium markets,” the company said.

The new attention to the Americas follows years of focus on Asia. As one of the earliest international luxury brands to enter China, the company operates more than 220 stores worldwide with a strong presence throughout Asia-Pacific, Japan, and Europe.

Alfred Dunhill has logged double-digit global volume increases over the past four years, and for two years, its Paris runway collections have received positive receptions under the creative direction of Kim Jones.
