NEW YORK — Elie Tahari, founder and chairman of Elie Tahari Ltd., will take on the additional role of chief executive officer.
He succeeds Bob Galvin, who was named ceo last January, and will transition into a consulting role at the company, working on special projects and new business.
Galvin, who was previously president of the Camuto Group, had been charged with spearheading wholesale, retail and international sales for the women’s and men’s collections at Tahari, as well as fortifying such areas as accessories, merchandising, marketing, licensing, product development and production.

Amy Shecter, former president of C. Wonder and Electric Love Army at Burch Creative Capital, joined Tahari in September as president. Initially, she reported jointly to Tahari and Galvin, and will now report to Tahari.
When she came on board, she told WWD that she looked forward to continuing to develop Tahari’s existing business and expanding the brand’s overall global presence and product offerings. Tahari has such licensed products as handbags, footwear and accessories, and she said there are opportunities for categories such as children’s footwear and beauty. “Elie Tahari has so much opportunity for global expansion and category development. The brand still has so much upward mobility to expand and grow,” Shecter said in September, adding that she intends to expand the infrastructure as well.
Taking the final spot on the mens’ portion of New York Fashion Week calendar next month will be none other than @tomford. Though he’s shown his men’s wear in New York in the past, this will mark the first time the designer has shown his men’s collection alone during New York Fashion Week: Men’s. His runway show will debut on February 6 at the Park Avenue Armory. #wwdfashion

For her celebratory luncheon, @coach’s creative director @stuartvevers dressed her in a custom made prairie dress, complete with Vever’s take on the polka dot – black sequined versions – under a cropped motorcycle jacket. @nickjonas is unveiling his first-ever apparel collection through a partnership with John Varvatos.
