NEW YORK — In time for its 35th anniversary, Escada has launched an e-commerce site for three German-speaking countries, and fashion director Daniel Wingate is rejuvenating the collection with a modern chic aesthetic.

As design director of the label’s main collection and Escada Sport, Wingate has moved quickly to capture the heritage and spirit of Escada while establishing a greater sense of relevance to today. During a preview of the collection at Escada’s East 55th Street store here, he said several times, “The clothes need to be ageless, timeless and versatile.”
