MILAN — Tod’s has appointed Andrea Incontri as men’s wear creative director with a focus on ready-to-wear.

The spring collection to be shown here Sunday with a special performance at Milan’s PAC contemporary art museum was designed by the in-house team but supervised by Incontri.

“Andrea’s arrival in our design team enriches the men’s wear collections, giving our customers an even wider offering, especially for the ready-to-wear,” Tod’s chairman and chief executive officer Diego Della Valle said Friday.

Della Valle is expanding the brand’s men’s division with a comprehensive collection tapping into the category’s growth potential.

“Becoming part of a company like Tod’s is both an honor and an exciting challenge,” said Incontri. “Quality and contemporary Italian style are Tod’s values that are already part of my personal vision of the modern man. My aim is to develop them, always keeping in mind the importance of the roots of a brand with such a rich history and craftsmanship.”

An architecture graduate from the Politecnico di Milano, Incontri, who launched his namesake brand in 2009, won the men’s edition of the “Who Is on Next?” talent search in 2010 in the accessories category. The designer quickly extended his label to men’s wear, delivering collections with a strong attention to detail and use of high-end materials.
In 2012,  Incontri added a women’s collection, which debuted as part of the Italian Fashion Chamber’s official fashion week schedule in February 2013.

Tod’s women’s collection is designed by Alessandra Facchinetti.
