TOKYO — Issey Miyake said Wednesday that it has tapped Yoshiyuki Miyamae as its new women’s designer starting with the spring-summer 2012 season.

Miyamae succeeds Dai Fujiwara, who ended his five-year run at the label’s helm earlier this year. Miyamae has a long history at the company, first joining Miyake Design Studio in 2001. He has worked with Fujiwara on both the A-Poc Project as well as the house’s mainstay collection.
