Jack Vartanian is bringing the colors of Brazil to Manhattan.

The São Paulo-based jewelry designer opened his first U.S. store Tuesday at 996 Madison Avenue.

The 500-square-foot shop offers a full range of Vartanian’s pieces, with prices starting at $500 for something simple to $20,000 for a more gemstone-intensive piece. One-off items with many diamonds can rise to $150,000.

Vartanian, who has dressed the likes of Gisele Bündchen, Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz, is known for his bold use of color and clean, art deco-inspired lines. Vartanian sources gemstones from all over the world, including Belgium, India, Japan and China.

“My collection has a glamorous and vintage look to it,” said Vartanian, who has five stores in Brazil.

His signature collection also is available at select Barneys New York stores, as well as Louis Boston.

The store was designed by Arthur Mattos Casas and was inspired by the environs of São Paulo, with use of deep browns, reflective glass, raw woods and natural woven fibers throughout.

Vartanian anticipates the store will generate $5 million in retail sales in the first 12 months.
