LONDON — London designers J.W. Anderson and Simone Rocha are among the winners of the British Fashion Council’s NewGen sponsorship to show during London Fashion Week in February.
All of the sponsorships are supported by Topshop.
Anderson and Rocha are to receive money for catwalk shows while designers Christopher Raeburn; J.JS Lee; Marques’Almeida; Nasir Mazhar; Sophia Webster; Sister by Sibling; and Lucas Nascimento will receive funds to stage presentations.
The labels 1205; Liam Fahy; Maarten van der Horst; Palmer//Harding; and Huishan Zhang are the winners of exhibition sponsorship.
Newcomers to the scheme for this season include Paula Gerbase, whose label 1205 focuses on tailoring, and the shoe designer Liam Fahy.
NewGen, which was founded in 1993, is a showcase for new and emerging British-based fashion talent. Its alumni include Lee Alexander McQueen, Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab, Richard Nicoll and Erdem.
NewGen also provides business and mentoring support with London-based banks and law firms.
