Karl Lagerfeld writes and sketches as fast as he talks, so he needs a pen that can keep up with him. His new design for French luxury house S.T. Dupont, due out in July, is weighty and striking: Lagerfeld added straight angles to an instrument that’s typically round, so it fits snugly between the fingers and won’t roll around on a desk. He also made a lighter to complete the set. Never mind that the famously health-conscious designer doesn’t smoke. “I don’t wear dresses either,” he says.
