On the heels of winning the CFDA Swarovski award for men’s design earlier this month, Tim Hamilton is prepping for his first runway show. The New York-based designer has chosen Paris because he already does most of his sales there, especially to Japanese retailers. And he felt the city would be more receptive than New York to the clothes’ expressive quality. For spring, Hamilton spun intergalactic inspiration into deconstructed and asymmetrical tailoring, transparent outerwear and sheer knits.
